Episodic vs. Pilot Season...Mysteries Unraveled!
Description
For this event, Ty will share his experience in television, delving into the world of episodic and pilot casting. This will be a conversation about: the business side of acting preparing and researching for roles audition techniques finding confidence and making choices work ethics keeping busy creating original content maintaining relationships what to expect and how to prepare for episodic and pilot season pitfalls to avoid what do after booking a job and much more! Scene work will consist of ONE PREPARED scene with a reader to help better train for real world conditions. All work will be done in a supportive, classroom setting with other actors as the audience so that everyone can participate and learn from any adjustments or feedback. You will receive customized notes and feedback, and then run selected sections again to incorporate the educational instruction. *You may purchase video recording of entire personal session for $20. Copy will be emailed within 24 hours of workshop. This is an excellent tool for both student and parent. Students are able to play back the feedback and watch the redirects for fuller understanding. Parents become a "fly on the wall" and are able to see their child in action.*

Ty Harman
Bio
Ty Harman has worked in various facets of the entertainment industry his entire career. Ty started in the business as an actor getting his SAG card at age 18 and was a member of the Sunday Company of the Los Angeles Improv Troupe, The Groundlings. Ty transitioned behind the scenes first associate producing Cynthia Heimel's play, A GIRLS GUIDE TO CHAOS, starring Debra Jo Rupp and Ricki Lake at the Tiffany Theater in Los Angeles. Ty was also a development executive for Kim Basinger's Mighty Wind Productions. Ty had the opportunity to learn the talent agency business from the legendary Ed Limato and became a talent agent at ICM. Looking for a more creative endeavor, Ty became a casting executive at the Fox Network working on such shows as 90210, MELROSE PLACE, ALLY MCBEAL and The X FILES. Ty has also been a casting executive at Universal Television and TNT. As an independent casting director, Ty has worked on the AMERICAN PIE franchise, HBO's GENERATION KILL, CW's GIRLFRIENDS, both sequels of THE SANDLOT, and too many pilots to mention. Currently, Ty is working on the SyFy series WAREHOUSE 13, Disney's SHAKE IT UP, and Disney's upcoming fall comedies CRASH & BERNSTEIN and BITS & PIECES.
